SIUB is an instrumentation service of the Physics Faculty of the University of Barcelona created with the aim of providing a service on instrumentation design, development and test to research groups of the UB and other research institutions and to enhance industry tecnology transfer.

ASIC for the LHCb Upgrade

The LHCb detector, located at CERN and dedicated to the research fields of CP violation, charm physics and rare decays of the B meson, will be upgraded in order to increase the instantaneous luminosity. New electronics will be necessary. A new analog circuit has been designed for the Calorimeter sub-detector signal shaping and integration.

ASIC for medical image (PET)

Readout circuit for Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPM) arrays for positron emission tomography (PET). It includes a novel input stage and it offers an excellent timing measurement with good energy resolution measurement and pile-up detection.

ASICs for Cherenkov Telescopes

The Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) is intended to explore the Universe in depth in Very High Energy gamma-rays and investigate cosmic non-thermal processes. Several ASICs have been designed for the the CTA project. Functionalities of each include pre-amplification, triggering and Signal Conditioning.
